The dimensions of cylindrical Alnico magnets are defined by diameter and height. With symmetrical overall shape, they enable easy positioning during assembly and uniform stress distribution.
Compared with rare earth magnets, they have a lower magnetic energy product, yet stand out in temperature stability and demagnetization resistance, making them ideal for high-temperature environments, precision instruments and long-term continuous operation. Axial or radial magnetization can be selected freely based on the magnetic circuit design of equipment.
Performance Grades: Please refer to our full Alnico grade performance chart.
Magnetization Direction: Customizable according to customers’ equipment magnetic circuits and assembly structures.

It is smelted from proportioned metals including aluminum, nickel, cobalt, iron and copper. Different performance grades are formed by adjusting metal ratios and exclusive heat treatment processes, delivering minimal magnetic field fluctuation under high temperatures.
Alnico magnets fall into two categories: cast Alnico and sintered Alnico. Cast Alnico features easy forming and cost-effectiveness for general industrial equipment; sintered Alnico boasts uniform internal microstructure, superior dimensional accuracy and consistent magnetic performance, widely used in high-end precision instruments.
Raw material proportioning → high-temperature melting → casting forming → high-temperature directional heat treatment → precision cylindrical / surface grinding → surface protection → magnetization to finish products
Metal powder blending → compression molding → high-temperature sintering → heat treatment → precision cylindrical grinding → surface treatment → magnetization to finish products
Custom machining services including cutting, chamfering, polishing and precision cylindrical grinding are available to guarantee coaxiality and dimensional tolerance of cylindrical magnets.
Alnico has inherent rust resistance. Passivation treatment is sufficient for standard working conditions. Nickel plating, zinc plating or epoxy coating are optional for humid, acid and alkali environments to enhance anti-corrosion performance and surface appearance.
