Laser Particle Size Analyzer
The laser particle size analyzer is precision testing equipment dedicated to accurate particle size analysis of powder materials. It is specially used for quantitative detection of particle size and particle size distribution of NdFeB permanent magnet powder. As a core physical and chemical testing instrument for powder process control, raw material acceptance, sintering performance prediction and formula R&D optimization in magnet manufacturing, it directly affects the forming density of subsequent magnets and the stability of finished magnetic properties.
Working Principle
Based on the laser diffraction and scattering principle, powder samples are fully dispersed by the dispersion system and then enter the optical detection path. Laser irradiates particles and generates diffraction and scattering at different angles. Detectors collect scattered light signals. The system performs calculation and analysis based on Mie scattering theory, automatically counts the proportion of particles of different sizes, and outputs a complete particle size report including average particle size, size distribution range and span to visually judge the uniformity of powder fineness.
Main Applications
Detect particle size and particle size distribution curve of NdFeB alloy magnetic powder to control process stability of hydrogen decrepitation and jet milling.
Control powder uniformity and avoid abnormal coarse/fine particles or irregular distribution range, ensuring uniform pressing density and improving microstructure consistency of sintered magnets.
Conduct incoming powder sampling inspection, in-process patrol inspection and batch release test of finished powder to stabilize consistency of mass production.
Precisely optimize jet mill rotating speed, classifier wheel parameters and grinding duration to match particle size requirements for different magnet grades.
Carry out new formula development and new process comparison tests to study how particle size affects remanence, coercivity, corrosion resistance and other magnetic properties.
Core Equipment Advantages
Wide measurement range, covering testing from ultra-fine magnetic powder to coarse powder with high accuracy and excellent repeatability & stability. Dry dispersion testing mode, no solvent sample preparation required. It avoids organic solvent contamination, delivers fast testing and adapts to the easy-agglomeration feature of magnetic powder. Integrated automatic feeding, dispersion and detection reduce manual error and support high-efficiency testing for large batches of samples. Equipped with professional analysis software, it generates real-time particle size distribution curves and data reports. One-click export and archiving facilitate quality traceability and process review. Anti-powder-adhesion dispersion structure for easy cleaning between samples, lowering cross-contamination risk among different batches and specifications. Test results comply with industrial powder testing standards with reliable data, meeting requirements of customer factory audits and product performance benchmarking.
