Strip Casting Furnace
The strip casting furnace is the core front-end melting & strip-making equipment for NdFeB permanent magnet production. Adopting vacuum rapid solidification strip casting technology, it melts proportioned raw materials including rare earth, iron and boron at high temperature. The molten alloy is rapidly quenched by a high-speed cooling roller to produce flake-shaped alloy strips.
The furnace performs sealed vacuum melting throughout the process to effectively prevent raw material oxidation. Temperature control, vacuum and cooling systems work in automatic interlock with stable and controllable cooling rate. Fine and uniform columnar crystal structure is formed to restrain the precipitation of α-Fe soft magnetic phase. Compared with traditional alloy ingots, rapid-solidified strips feature less internal component segregation and superior microstructure. It greatly reduces the difficulty of subsequent hydrogen decrepitation and powder preparation, improves magnetic powder uniformity, and guarantees the consistency of remanence and coercivity of NdFeB magnets from the source. As the critical pre-processing equipment for medium-high grade and ultra-high performance NdFeB magnet manufacturing, it is suitable for raw material preparation of high-end permanent magnet products used in new energy motors, wind power, precision servo and other fields.
