Disc SmCo magnets feature flat thin disc shapes, with dimensions defined by outer diameter and thickness. Axial magnetization is adopted for standard products to deliver uniform and stable magnetic fields, making them highly suitable for installation in confined spaces.
Custom radial magnetization schemes are available according to customers’ equipment magnetic circuit designs, to fit high-temperature precision magnetic attraction and induction structures.
Performance Grades: Please refer to our full SmCo grade performance datasheet.Magnetization Direction: Customizable based on customers’ operating conditions and assembly structures of equipment.

Disc SmCo magnets are melted from proportioned rare metals including samarium, cobalt, iron, copper and zirconium. They fall into two main series: SmCo₅ and Sm₂Co₁₇. Manufactured with precisely proportioned raw metals and multiple metallurgical processes, they experience minimal magnetic attenuation under high temperatures.
Samarium-cobalt permanent magnets are divided into Type 1:5 SmCo and Type 2:17 SmCo. The Type 2:17 series delivers higher magnetic energy product and superior temperature resistance. Both versions feature far better high-temperature stability than standard NdFeB magnets, serving as premium permanent magnetic materials exclusively for high-temperature working conditions.

Precision machining processes cover slicing, precision surface grinding, chamfering and polishing, ensuring excellent flatness and tight dimensional tolerances for disc magnets.
SmCo magnets inherently possess better oxidation resistance than NdFeB magnets. Passivation protection is sufficient for general environments. For highly corrosive environments, optional treatments such as zinc plating, nickel plating, epoxy coating and electrophoresis can isolate the magnets from moisture, acid and alkali erosion.
