ICP Spectrometer
ICP Spectrometer, full name Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer, is a high-precision chemical analytical instrument for quantitative elemental analysis. In NdFeB permanent magnet manufacturing, it accurately detects elemental composition and impurity content inside raw materials and finished magnets. It serves as core physical and chemical analysis equipment for incoming raw material verification, formula ratio control, product purity inspection and quality compliance management.
Working Principle
Samples are digested and prepared into homogeneous solutions, atomized and fed into the plasma torch. Elements in the sample are excited in high-temperature plasma and emit characteristic wavelength spectra. The optical system separates spectral lines of different wavelengths, and the detector precisely collects optical signals. Based on spectral intensity, the system conducts qualitative elemental identification and quantitative concentration calculation to obtain the exact content of major elements, trace elements and harmful impurities within samples.
Main Applications
Test rare earth ratios of NdFeB raw materials, accurately quantify rare earth elements including neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium, ensure raw material composition matches formula design requirements.
Analyze the proportion of additive trace elements such as aluminum, copper, cobalt, gallium and niobium inside finished magnets to guarantee stable and consistent performance of material grades.
Quantitatively detect harmful impurities including carbon, oxygen, sulfur and heavy metals, strictly control excessive impurities and prevent deterioration of key magnet properties such as coercivity and corrosion resistance.
Incoming raw material composition acceptance, batch formula recheck during production and finished product composition traceability testing, meeting requirements for customer material certificates, third-party factory audits and industry compliance tests.
Supply accurate elemental data for new product formula R&D and process improvement tests to optimize magnet material formulations.
Core Equipment Advantages
Ultra-low detection limit for precise quantitative analysis of micro and trace elements, featuring high sensitivity, excellent accuracy and repeatability of test results. Simultaneous multi-element analysis in one run, high efficiency for batch multi-element testing and greatly shortened assay cycle. Wide linear detection range for stable measurement of both high and low concentration elements, suitable for samples of varying concentration including raw materials, semi-finished and finished products. Intelligent software system for automatic calibration curve creation, data calculation and report export. Test data can be archived for traceability to generate standard composition analysis reports. Stable overall operation and strong resistance to matrix interference, suitable for routine physical and chemical analysis of complex matrix rare earth magnet samples. Test methods comply with national material analysis standards. Authoritative test data can be used for product submission and qualification filing.
